Re: What are your league expectations of West Ham for this season.
It absolutely amazes me how people talk of Europe as if it's a bad thing and discredit the level of football.
Smacks of just because you're losing mentality. If not that, then small time thinking. Whatever it is, it's childish stuff.

Mid table if we get out of that pointless EL

Much lower if we continue to progress in the EL

Top ten,two more players ,forward, res gk, top 8.best squad we have had for years..good young defenders pushing for places.a 20-25 goal forward will make all the diffrence

Re: What are your league expectations of West Ham for this season.
The base of the squad should be to strong to flirt with relegation but to do any thing better than last year I think we are 2 or 3 real quality attacking players short. An injury to Sakho or payet and you could well be scrapping it out with Watford and Leicester

Having, over the past few weeks, read all the negative things on here about Europa league etc.,new Manager, Players, there is one gleam of sunshine.
NO FRIGGING ALLARDYCE.
Let's give this Bilic lad a go, at least we won't have that snarling Junior School Bully making excuses each week.
Get Song in, a new Striker and I fancy 6th.
By the way I've been supporting WHU for 51 years, so I have seen a few false Dawns.
This is not one of them...................

I'll take progression on the footballing front and the level of players that we bring in to build a decent sustainable squad, over our league position this season (obviously not relegation).

Tick those two boxes and it should be a 2-3 year project the league positions and cup runs should improve year on year.

Go out to compete in every game we play

Respect shown towards to support

Respect shown toward the club history

Players signed after professional scouting and not on the recommendation of friends that represent them

Win some , lose some

Probably win no trophies but give it a go at least

Probably won't get relegated but if we did thevworld wouldnt end

Probably won't finsh in European places but if we have a chance to then keep going for it

Record signings and captains not sat down the boizer every night

Pride

Fuck all now. No european run, but still shit in the league. We're two injuries away from being right down with the dregs. Good players will leave, we'll replace inadequately and we'll still be a bottom half team in a massive half empty stadium.

I'm glass half empty today. Jury is already out on Bilic for me too. Stupid teams in europe, stupid getting involved in the swastika thing, stupid if he doesn't send a good side to Romania.

Fuck off.

That's our problem to come After8. Frankly I like what I see from Bilic so far but I do think Bargain Basement Dave is a bigger problem.......

10th would be ok.

One thing we need to consider is that payet, valencia, Sakho and cresswell may want to move on if we don't end up higher.

Re: What are your league expectations of West Ham for this season.
I feel that the team looked very good for an hour on Thursday but still a team in transition learning a new system, new faces, new manager - I think the start of the season could be rocky, we might struggle to score and give away a few shocking goals, but we will have a patch in the season where it all clicks, where the squad is largely injury free, competition for places is up, confidence is up and we'll ride the crest of a wave.

I think an early exit from the EL - a decent run in one of the cups and an approx 10th place finish in the league. There will be moments of utter frustration but also moments of superb quality, enjoyable football and a feel good factor around UP for most of the season.

Re: What are your league expectations of West Ham for this season.
No flirting with relegation, mid table or better, more of a possession based game and some excitement and I will be happy.

Based on transfer activity so far and the impact of changes that could take time to start working, this may not be as easy as some think. Hopefully, we can get another striker or two, wide players and another strong central midfielder for the squad.
